Der Vulkan der Rothemden ist nicht erloschen: Gewerkschaftsaktivistin Junya Lek Yimprasert über die Lage in Thailand

Thailand’s generals will soon be celebrating the three-year anniversary of their regime, which was preceded by a bloodless coup – the twelfth coup d’état since the constitutional monarchy was established in 1932. After King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s death, his son Maha Vajiralongkorn succeeded him in December 2016.

In an interview with René Gralla from “nd” (edition of March 30, 2017), the trade union activist Junya Lek Yimprasert, who lives in the Finnish asylum, reports on the situation in Thailand (at a demonstration in Milan against the junta). In 2016 she was a podium guest at the conference on the constitutional referendum and the perspectives of the democracy movement in Thailand, organized by the Asia House Foundation and the Department of Southeast Asian Studies at the University of Bonn.
